Depending on your needs, your doc will treat you with injection sclerotherapy or radiofrequency occlusion. For sclerotherapy, a prescription medicine is injected into veins, causing them to shrink. Radiofrequency occlusion uses ultrasound heat transmitted through a threaded catheter to shrink the vein entirely. (The area is cleaned and anesthetized first.) Your board-certified doctor will also evaluate your circulation to make sure it's healthy.
