Since the start of his freelance career, Arturo has worked with publications such as American Vogue, LUomo Vogue, In Style, Elle and Glamour to name a few, and has collaborated with some of the industries acclaimed photographers including Annie Leibovitz, Mark Selinger, Norman Jean Roy and Sara Silver.
A 4th generation hairstylist, Arturo was born and raised in Red Bank, New Jersey. Arturo took an interest in doing hair while watching his mother do her own hair with the experience she gained while modeling in the early 80's. He recreated these looks with his own imagination on his Princess Leia doll, and anyone who would sit long enough for him to experiment. From an extended family of hairstylists, Arturo was greatly encouraged to pursue his creative passion. This practical experience and encouragement led him to begin hairstyling at the age of 10 after school in local hair salons. Arturo moved to New York, and spent five years assisting top hairstylists such as John Sahag and Oribe.
Today, Arturo's work is featured in a variety of high-level publications, and his regular celebrity clients include Arianna Huffington, Diane Sawyer and Marissa Tomei. Arturo's time is split between working within the freelance industry and his single chair salon, Arturo New York in New York City.
